Bartender Challenge

On April 23, 2025, Saskatoon came together in an unforgettable way. The 2025 Bartender Challenge, in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saskatoon, raised an astonishing $194,000+ — more than doubling the original goal of $80,000. This remarkable show of generosity marks the most successful Bartender Challenge to date — and a powerful step forward for youth mentorship in our city.

Congratulations to Our Champions

Shawn Harman took home the title of Bartender Challenge Champion, raising an incredible $48,935.60.

Close behind, Brett Casavant, CPA, CA, raised an impressive $43,941.70 — a true display of friendly competition for a great cause.

Kirstin Meadows earned the Thirsty Cocktail Award by selling over 100 signature drinks.

Nicole Guerequeta wowed our judges and claimed the Judges’ Choice Award for her expertly crafted cocktail.

A special shoutout to DJ Dev, who kept the energy high and fundraising going with a DJ Pay-to-Play. And of course, thank you to our incredible hosts at Congress Beer House and to Lucky Bastard Distillers for their generous support.

What This Means for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Every dollar raised goes straight to the heart of our mission — building and supporting mentoring relationships. These funds directly support “the middle” — the essential behind-the-scenes work that allows us to recruit, screen, train, and support volunteer mentors.

It costs over $1,500 per year to support a single match. Thanks to the incredible success of this year’s event, more youth will be matched with mentors — and more lives will be changed.

Right now, there are kids in Saskatoon waiting for someone to believe in them. Thanks to this community’s generosity, we’re one step closer to saying yes.
